While we may never know exactly what happened that day, the "at fault" driver told police he was distracted as he looked for his wallet. Those few seconds were all it took for a chain reaction accident involving four cars. Alex's car was hit head on by his SUV and she suffered severe head injuries. She spent a week in the hospital, never regained consciousness, and passed away due to her injuries. We ask everyone to be mindful of distracted driving, and to never use your smartphone while driving. Don't ever text and drive!
